British artist Mark Thompson was born in 1972 in Peterborough, United Kingdom, and has traveled to the remote and climate challenged lands of Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Alaska. While traveling he makes notes, photographs, and drawings of the empty and cold landscape. He then returns home to make very large paintings, as interpreted by the studies and his memory. This exhibit includes several of his most recent paintings from Europe. Mark currently lives & works in Stuttgart, Germany. He exhibited with the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle, WA in 2006. His work is included in the Beldam Collection, Brunel University; The McGraw Hill Collection; The Government Art Collection, United Kingdom; The Cowley Manor Collection; and The Microsoft Collection, Redmond, WA.
