Congratulations to  Susanna Bluhm, who was announced as one of the 2014 Neddy Award Finalists this week!

The four finalists for the 2014 Neddy in Painting are Susanna Bluhm, Seattle, WA; Robert Hardgrave, Seattle, WA; Kimberly Trowbridge, Seattle, WA; and Claude Zervas, Seattle, WA.

The four finalists for the Neddy in Open Medium (any medium or combination of media grounded in the visual arts) are Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes, Seattle, WA; Mark Calderon, Seattle, WA; Clyde Petersen, Seattle, WA; and Joey Veltkamp, Seattle, WA

All finalists will participate in studio visits with an arts professional from outside the region, who will determine the 2014 awardees. Two of the artists, one in each category, will receive the 2014 Neddy at Cornish unrestricted awards of $25,000 each.

All finalists will receive $1,500 each and participate in the 2014 Neddy at Cornish exhibition, September 3 – October 18, 2014, in the Main Gallery at Cornish College of the Arts. The 2014 Neddy at Cornish finalists were chosen by a panel of three regional arts professionals: Lele Barnett, Tim Detweiler, and Jeffry Mitchell.

Each year, two $25,000 unrestricted awards are given, one in painting and one in any medium or combination of media grounded in the visual arts, to artists living and working in the greater Puget Sound region.
