Eirik Johnson’s sound-based installation A Waypoint to Crescent Lake is currently on view at the Tacoma Art Museum as part of the biennial Northwest Art Now exhibition, co-curated by Rock Hushka, Tacoma Art Museum’s Chief Curator, and Juan Roselione-Valadez, Director of the Rubell Family Collection, Contemporary Arts Foundation.  The installation features an abandoned shelter from a commercial mushroom foragers’ camp together with ambient sound recorded both in the mushroom camps of Oregon as well as the mushroom auction markets of Tokyo.  Also on view are several photographs from the larger project The Mushroom Camps.
